Radovan Trnavac Mića

Trnavac Mića was born in 1950, in Kragujevac. He finished elementary school in Valjevo, and later the high school of electrical engineering “Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade. The first painting experience he gained in Nikšić at the Pedagogical Academy, in the class of Professor Nikola Gvozdenović. It was serendipity that he was, right after the first year, admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in the painting department, in Belgrade. He graduated in 1977, in the class of Professor Mladen Srbinović.

He lived in the USA since 1981, where he taught painting and drawing at different art colleges.

Besides painting, he is engaged in sculpture. He made five monuments which are located in the following Macedonian cities: Bitolj, Kruševo, and Brusnik. Three monographs about the life and work of Radovan Trnavac Mića have been published, along with a significant number of books: Art in America (1983), The Best of Day Tripping and Dining (1986), Soho (1991), In the Shadow of the Famous (1995), The Daily Hellish Heat (2008).
